For the fifth year, we’ve earned a Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Quality Standards Program! The clinic has received this rating each year since the program’s launch in 2020.

The Free Clinic of Culpeper is a member of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC). The NAFC’s mission is to ensure the medically underserved have access to affordable quality health care. To quantify and qualify the care provided at the Free and Charitable Clinic network, the NAFC formalized Quality Standards for member organizations. Standards include policies and procedures related to the following areas: Administrative, Enhanced Access and Continuity of Care, Identifying and Managing Patient Population information, Planning and Managing Care, Providing Self-Care Support and Community Resources, Tracking and Coordinating Care, and Measuring and Improving Performance.

As an NAFC member, the Free Clinic of Culpeper voluntarily submits information to the NAFC on the various policies and procedures in place and pledges successful incorporation of these standards within the clinic.

Clinic director Tammy LaGraffe said, “We are proud to have received this top rating, which reflects the commitment of our staff and volunteers to providing quality care for our patients. Our success also reflects involvement of many individuals and organizations who support our patient community by donating fresh food, cold weather clothing, and expertise in area of need such as health testing and informational services.”

“The diverse services we are able to offer our patient population can only happen through community support,” noted LaGraffe. “We’re tremendously grateful for our community’s generosity during Give Local Piedmont in May and our OysterFest fundraiser in October. These efforts, along with other donations, comprise two-thirds of our budget.”
